Having frequently been called a pessimist, when I would suggest that 'adjust[ing] the sails' might be necessary, this quote struck home as I read it this morning. A woman with a history of a difficult childhood, who struggled through adolescence, to attend university and become a parent to two beautiful daughters at a young age, I know about and understand the need to constantly 'adjust the sails." The winds of life change, and one's expectations shift with the winds. Although there may be a goal in the distance, the path towards it may require many adjustments as the journey continues.

Facebook: "The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails. ~William Arthur Ward"
